E261サフィール踊り子

JR東日本の伊豆方面観光特急「E261系新型サフィール踊り子」の内外装デザインを担当しました。
特徴的な天窓や大きい側窓を備え、特急らしい疾走感を持ったフォルムには、青く美しい伊豆の海と空をイメージした「伊豆アズール」、砂浜が陽の光を受けて金色に輝く様子をイメージした「白浜ホワイト」、火山由来の土地にちなんだ黒々したグレーをイメージした「城ヶ崎グレー」を纏っています。
全車グリーン席以上となる本車は、テラスのように明るいトーンでまとめた開放感溢れるスタンダードグリーン、落ち着いてくつろげるカフェをイメージし、気の合う仲間や大好きな家族と目的地までゆったりとした時間を過ごせる空間のグリーン個室、書斎のように落ち着いたトーンでプライベート空間とくつろぎの空間の両立を目指したプレミアムグリーン、麺料理を提供する食堂車「ヌードルバー」で構成されており、それぞれが違う魅力を持った移動空間を目指しました。
車名のサフィールは、「サファイヤ」を意味するフランス語であり、伊豆の自然をイメージした内外装と相まって上質・高級で優雅な旅を楽しんでもらいたいという願いから名付けられました。
KEN OKUYAMA DESIGN was in charge of the interior and exterior design of JR East E261 Saphir ODORIKO,a toursit express launch between Tokyo and a spa resort area in Shizuoka Prefecture.
Equipped with characteristic sky windows and large side windows, the body designed with a dashing feeling of a express train with 3 colors:
blue in the image of a beautiful blue sea and sky of Izu, white the image of the sandy beach shining golden in the sunlight and black gray the image of the land derived from the volcano.
All seats on this train are green seats,
standard green seats with full of a bright sense of openness like a terrace,
green private rooms which is a space with the image of a calm and relaxing cafe where you can spend a relaxing time with your family or friends and premium green seats wich is a space like a private study with a relaxing atposphere. In addition, there is a dining car “Noodle Bar” that serves noodle dishes, and we aimed to have a different charm in each space.
The name Saphir is a French word for “sapphire” and is named after the hope that you will enjoy a high-quality, high-class and elegant journey.
