Students from six design schools of the JIKEI Gakuen Group, where Okuyama serves as honorary school president, have been working on the industry-academia collaboration teaching project “Designing the Future Life of the Newly Born Umekita City” since April last year, for an assignment from Yanmar Holdings Co., Ltd. (Kita-ku, Osaka City), of which Okuyama also serves as a director. Among them, “Asu no Machi”, a work of Tokyo Communication Art College, was selected as the top prize by a judging committee composed of Yanmar HD, Obayashi Corporation, and KEN OKUYAMA DESIGN, and the contents were published in the Sankei Shimbun today, which is a wonderful proposal that inherits the uniqueness of Osaka where people live one’s life being oneself while working on future social issues such as sustainability and food loss with AI and robots.
